certifications

The reputation and the image of our farm and consequently of our wines, benefits the sustainable management of the energy necessary for production.

Our farm wants to measure its environmental impact to tell its wines, not only for the technical aspects of denomination of origin, alcohol content, aromas and flavors, history and tradition. We want to communicate that our products follow specific protocols aimed at limiting the use of environmental resources, which must be respected as we will leave to future generations.
CARBON E WATER FOOTPRINT
Obtaining the ministerial label V.I.V.A. for the Pinot Grigio Doc Friuli of the Castello di Porcia and Ca 'Bembo line with DNV-GL certified data. The aim of the study is to quantify the carbon footprint (the greenhouse gas emissions throughout the life cycle) of the Pinot Grigio Castello di Porcia and Ca 'Bembo wines.

THE PRODUCTION CYCLE

“Sun, earth, man's work and advanced technology.
It is only their combination that leads us to obtain cereals, soybeans, grapes, fruit walnuts, poplars, fodder. Their production and transformation takes shape in our two companies in Porcia and Azzano Decimo, together with livestock and fish activities.
The historic cellar of the Castello di Porcia and the Farm of Azzano represent and combine history and tradition with innovation and planning.
Respecting the earth, the men who cultivate it and all those who appreciate our work is the leitmotiv that has guided us for 55 generations:
ours is "dynamic tradition", the ability to collect and consolidate the "fruits" of good agricultural practices of the past to invest and build the farm of the future, more and more respecting the environment.”

Renewable energies

Today all our production can be said to be sustainable thanks to our investments in three important projects.
Reconversion, in Azzano Decimo, of the roofing structures of the farms, the winery and the shelters for a total of:
2500 SQM OF PHOTOVOLTAIC PANELS
WITH BUDGET RELATIONSHIP
OF PRODUCTION-CONSUMPTION
ELECTRICITY.
Modification of the turbine of the hydroelectric power plant in Porcía, near the family castle, with the aim of capturing the different flow rates and floods of the Rio Buion.
300.000 KWH/YEAR
HYDROELECTRIC ENERGY
Construction in a farm in Azzano Decimo of a plant for the production of biogas fed with its own dedicated cereal crops, livestock waste from its own cattle breeding. The maximum power is 1 MW, which allows you to enter the network:
8.400.000 KWH/YEAR
OF ENERGY FROM BIOGAS
Construction in Palse (Porcia) of a plant for the production of biogas fed with its own dedicated cereal crops, zootechnical sewage from adjacent pig breeding. The maximum power is 300 kW, which allows you to enter the network:
2.400.000 KWH/YEAR
OF ENERGY FROM BIOGAS
HYDROELECTRIC POWER STATION AT THE PORCIA CASTLE: ENERGY FROM WATER
The Porcia have used since the last century the hydraulic power of the Roggia at the foot of the family castle with hydraulic wheels that transferred the mechanical force to the mill and threshing tree. In 1934 a Francis turbine was installed for the production of energy to be used for the drive of the same and was built a new drainage channel, sunk to increase the useful jump, from 3.10 meters to 4 meters. In 1986 they replaced Francis with a submerged helical turbine. In October 2012 the renewal of the plant with the installation of a new Kaplan group equipped with an automatic blade adjustment system, extremely efficient, able to maintain high efficiency (up to 300,000 kw / year), even at lower water.
SKI LIFT
FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE ITTIC FAUNA
To minimize the environmental impact of the new hydroelectric power plant and protect the reproduction and fish population of the Rio Bujon at the foot of the Castello di Porcia, in collaboration with the Fishing Protection Authority, a climbing ladder specifically designed for eels was created. known as "Bisát" of the Pordenone area.
